Work Session Mayor Carnicelli welcomes Ann Robson, President of the Auburn Downtown Partnership and Sandy Craner, Executive Director of the Auburn BID. Mrs. Robson speaks and introduces Ms. Craner.
Ms Craner comments included
· Reviewing the mission of the BID
· Focus of her first few weeks on the job -
· Development of communication with the City of Auburn Planning Office, Mayor and City Manager.
· Review of the Parking project and Synthesis plan.
· Getting feedback from BID members
· Efforts include developing marketing materials, a website, signage, press kits, a survey, along with business recruitment, addressing merchant concerns.
· Long range plans include creating events, filling restaurants and shops, revisiting façade guidelines, pursuing grants, filling second floors.
Mayor Carnicelli commented and thanked Ms. Craner.
Other Business
Councilor Dempsey reported on the presentation he attended on the Carousel Mall expansion that will be called DestiNY USA. He explained the scope of the project and its potential positive impact on tourism business in the surrounding small cities like Auburn.
Acting City Manager Tom Leone introduced John Komarisky, member of the Cayuga County Fire and Multi Agency Training Center Advisory Committee. They then reviewed the County
